Ingredients

Base Sauces & Seasonings:

  • 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 3 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
  • 2 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 3 tsp Spring Onion Finely Chopped

For the Hot Oil Tempering (Tadka):

  • 2 tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic Finely Chopped
  • 2 tbsp Onion Finely Chopped

Instructions

  • In a heatproof bowl, mix tomato ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar, red chilli flakes, toasted sesame seeds, and chopped spring onions to build a flavorful, savory momo dipping sauce base.
  • Heat toasted sesame oil in a small pan over low heat.
  • Add finely chopped garlic and sauté until fragrant and light golden brown, then gently soften the onions to create a rich spicy garlic oil tempering.
  • Pour the sizzling aromatic oil directly over the sauce base to bloom the chilli flakes and release deep umami flavors.
  • Stir thoroughly and serve warm alongside crispy spring rolls, potstickers, or rice paper dumplings.
