Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Desiccated Coconut / Nariyal ka Buraada
  • 1 Cup Fresh Khoya / Mawa
  • ½ Cup Bura / Tagar / Unrefined Sugar Powdered Sugar
  • ½ tsp Cardamom Powder freshly ground
  • 1 tsp Desi Ghee
  • 1 tbsp Warm Milk optional, only if dough feels dry while shaping

Instructions

  • Dry Roast Coconut: Dry roast desiccated coconut in a pan on low flame for 1–2 minutes until fragrant. Do not let it change color. Transfer to a bowl.
  • Roast & Cool Khoya: In the same pan, stir khoya on low flame for 3–4 minutes until soft and aromatic. Transfer to a wide plate and cool to lukewarm.
  • Mix Sugar & Spice: Add bhura (tagar) and cardamom powder to the lukewarm khoya. Knead gently until smooth and well combined.
  • Fold Coconut: Fold the roasted desiccated coconut into the sweetened khoya mixture and knead into a soft dough (add a splash of warm milk if dry).
  • Shape Ladoos: Lightly grease your palms with ghee, take small portions of the dough, and roll them into smooth, round ladoos.
