Bread Poha Recipe is a light breakfast dish. Actually, Bread Upma Recipe is a staple breakfast recipe in our home which we all love. Basically, this is made by mixing bread pieces in a mix of seasoned spices and herbs with onions, & tomatoes.
The two popular variations of the bread ka poha recipe are made with either curd or without curd. I am sharing two such quick recipes in this post on How to make bread upma.

This savory brown bread upma for weight loss is made in just 15 minutes. This easy bread poha is a perfect option for a quick breakfast, brunch, or evening snack.
The procedure of brown bread poha is very simple, quick, and easy. Bread ka Upma has been adapted from the famous Maharashtrian Recipe but this bread poha for weight loss has eventually gained popularity in all regions of India.
One of the first snack recipes that I learned to make was this bread upma without curd. In fact, during my school days, I would make this poha for myself and my family. This is my favorite snack recipe for a quick hunger.
You can use fresh white or brown bread slices or you can also make this yummy dish with Pav.
If you have leftover pav or old bread then this recipe is a good choice. If you are using a few days old bread slices, the edges have become dense, then slice them.
You can add vegetables to this vegetable bread upma recipe like beans, carrots, peas, cabbage, and capsicum as per your choice. Even you can also add Paneer to this delicious paneer bread upma.

Ingredients
- 6 slice Bread
- ½ cup Onion (finely chopped)
- ½ cup Tomato (finely chopped)
- ½ tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 pinch Asafoetida (Hing)
- ½ tsp Rai (Mustard Seeds)
- ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
- ½ tsp Red Chilli Powder
- ½ tsp Coriander Powder
- ½ tsp Maggi Magic Masala
- 2 tsp Tomato Ketchup
- 1 tbsp Fresh Coriander (finely chopped)
Instructions
- Firstly, chop the onion and tomatoes into small pieces.
- Further, cut the bread slice into cubes.
- Now heat 2 tbsp of oil in a Kadai / Wok.
- Once the oil is hot, add a pinch of Asafoetida (Hing) and Rai (Mustard Seeds) and saute them.
- Additionally, add finely chopped onion and saute for a minute.
- After that, add finely chopped tomatoes and salt.
- Mix all the ingredients well.
- Cover and cook this for 2 minutes and stir in between.
- Additionally, add Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder, Maggi Magic Masala, and Tomato Ketchup.
- Mix well and cook for a few seconds.
- After that, add bread cubes.
- Mix the spices with the pieces of bread well and cook for a minute.
- Further, add finely chopped fresh coriander and mix them gently.
- Finally, serve this hot and tasty bread poha as a breakfast or as a quick snack.
- Enjoy this quick dish with a hot cup of tea.

Step by Step Recipe
How to make bread poha at home | Bread Masala Upma Recipe with step by step photos:
1. Firstly, chop the onion and tomatoes into small pieces.
2. Further, cut the bread slice into cubes.
3. Now heat 2 tbsp of oil in a Kadai / Wok.
4. Once the oil is hot, add a pinch of Asafoetida (Hing) and Rai (Mustard Seeds), and saute them.
5. Additionally, add finely chopped onion and saute for a minute.
6. After that, add finely chopped tomatoes and salt.
7. Mix all the ingredients well.
8. Cover and cook this for 2 minutes and stir in between.
9. Additionally, add Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Coriander Powder, Maggi Magic Masala, and Tomato Ketchup.
10. Mix well and cook for a few seconds.
11. After that, add bread cubes.
12. Mix the spices with the pieces of bread well and cook for a minute.
13. Further, add finely chopped fresh coriander and mix them gently.
