How to make maggi bread balls | Maggi appe:

  • In a pan, bring water to a boil, and add MAGGI Masala-ae-Magic and Maggi tastemaker. Stir well.
  • Add Maggi noodles and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Ensure noodles are 90% cooked and dry, then turn off the heat. Let the noodles cool slightly.
  • Cut the edges of the bread slices and cut each slice in half.
  • Lightly dip the bread in water for a few seconds. Squeeze out excess water.
  • Place the damp bread slice on your palm and add 1 tsp of the Maggi filling to the center.
  • Fold and gather the edges around the filling to form a ball. Smooth out any gaps by gently pressing the ball. Repeat for all slices.
  • Heat the appe pan over medium heat and grease each mould with oil.
  • Place the bread balls in the pan.
  • Cook on low-medium heat, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crispy (about 6-8 minutes).
  • Remove the Maggi bread balls from the pan and serve hot with ketchup, mayo, chilli garlic sauce, or chutney.

Step-by-Step Recipe

Prepare the Maggi Filling:

1. In a pan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

2. Add 1 pack of MAGGI Masala-ae-Magic and 2 packs of Maggi tastemaker or Maggi masala. Mix well.

3. Adjust salt if needed, though the tastemaker usually contains enough.

4. After boiling, add 2 packs of Maggi noodles and cook them for 2-3 minutes.

5. Once the noodles are 90% cooked, turn off the heat and allow them to cool down slightly. While cooking the Maggi noodles, ensure they are dry.

6. You can add freshly chopped coriander leaves if you’d like a hint of freshness in the filling, but this is optional.

How to make Maggi stuffed Bread Appe or Appam:

1. Take each bread slice and cut the edges to make the bread easier to shape. You can try my bread poha recipe using the bread edges, so nothing goes to waste.

2. Now cut each bread slice into two equal pieces.

3. Lightly dip each slice in water for a few seconds, just enough to dampen it. Do not soak the bread entirely. Squeeze out the excess water by gently pressing the bread between your palms.

4. Place the damp bread slice on your palm.

5. Add about 1 tsp of the cooled Maggi filling to the center of the bread slice.

6. Carefully gather the edges of the bread around the Maggi filling. Press gently to form a ball, ensuring the filling is fully enclosed inside the bread.

7. Smooth out any gaps or openings by pressing lightly. Repeat this process for all the bread slices.

8. Place the appe pan over medium heat and grease each cavity with a small amount of oil. Preheat the pan so it’s ready for cooking.

9. Gently place the Maggi bread balls into each cavity of the appe pan.

10. Cook them on low-medium heat, ensuring even cooking and browning.

11. After a few minutes, once the bottom side of the bread balls turns golden, carefully flip them over with a spoon or fork. Continue turning the bread balls to golden brown them evenly on all sides.

12. Cook the bread balls until they are crispy and golden brown, which should take around 6-8 minutes.

13. Remove the Appe Pan Maggi Bread Bites from the pan and place them on a serving plate.

14. Serve hot with dipping sauces like ketchup, mayonnaise, chilli garlic sauce, or green chutney.

Tips

1. Use fresh or slightly stale bread for better results.

2. If you want more spice then adjust the spiciness by adding red chilli powder.

3. Make sure to squeeze out excess water from the bread, as too much moisture can make it difficult to form the balls.

4. For a more indulgent version, brush the Maggi Bread Balls with butter before cooking them in the appe pan.

5. Keep the heat on medium-low to ensure the bread balls cook evenly without burning.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe:
