Rava Appam Recipe aka Suji Appe Recipe is always been the most popular and favorite snack for breakfast. Rava Appe or Paddu not only makes a perfect breakfast but is healthy to eat too.
Very less oil is used to prepare these suji appams and one can make them too quickly. These tempting sooji appams can be a good option as a light snack.

Ingredients
Ingredients for Veg Rava Appam / Suji Appe Recipe:
- 1 cup Rava / Sooji / Semolina
- ½ cup Curd (whisked)
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tbsp Cauliflower (grated)
- 1 tbsp Onion (finely chopped)
- 1 tbsp Carrot (grated)
- 1 tbsp Capsicum (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp Green Chili (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp Ginger Paste
- ½ tsp Salt (adjust as per taste)
- ½ tsp Rai / Small Mustard Seeds
- ¼ tsp Baking Soda
- ½ cup Water (as needed)
Instructions
- Firstly, take rava/semolina in a big mixing bowl and now add whisked curd to it and mix really well.
- Further, add finely chopped cauliflower, finely chopped green chilies, onion, capsicum, carrot ginger paste, and salt to the batter.
- Mix everything really well. If the batter appears too thick then add some water to it.
- The batter should be of medium consistency just like idli batter.
- After that, cover and keep the batter aside for 10-15 to rest. Use it later to make appams.
- After 15 minutes, the batter is now ready.
- Additionally, in the end, add baking soda to the batter and mix gently. Don’t over-whisk the batter.
- Now, heat an appam maker and pour little oil into every mold.
- Further, sprinkles some mustard seed in each mold.
- When the seeds splutter, fill each mold with the batter and cover them.
- Let them simmer for 2-3 minutes on low flame.
- When the appe gets golden brown from beneath, flip the side and continue cooking until golden brown from this side as well.
- It can take 2 minutes. Cook the suji appams until they get golden brown on both sides.
- Further, take out the roasted appams on a plate and similarly prepare the rest of the sooji appe as well.
- Finally, your hot and delicious veg rava appam or appe or paniyaram is ready to be served.
- You can serve these veg suji appe / appam with any Indian chutney or dip like green coriander chutney, tomato ketchup, coconut chutney, etc.
